It is so comforting that the rumors of Regina's hospitality are fact, not fiction. The good old party line still hums with activity on our fair streets. Barely got a chance to get the Welcome mat on the front steps, and folks were stopping by.

While not one to hide the good silver when folks come to call, the right sociable thing to do was to make a little change and extend the functionality of IheartRegina.com a bit. You may have noticed that a 'comments' element has been added. Almost immediately, comments were posted.

While I love a good argument, the hopes are more serious debates will occur, my Canada includes Quebec, Gay marriage, and many other opinions that will eventually come forth. Your opinions matter too, that's why the comments functionality was added.

That fine young man Horseshit Jay left a lovely bon mot about 'Narrow Mindedness', 'Generational differences' and was wanting to place a bet that his work has seen a larger audience than mine. Well Jay, I hope that adding the comments area and giving voice to dissenting opinions shows that this web site is open to other ideas. Good ideas will always withstand reason, debate and furious discussion; weak ones will fall by the wayside. As for Generational differences, I like a good round in the mosh pit with the rest of them, but my differing opinions are not based on age or intellect, but on experience...try getting that without getting old! And as for whose thing is bigger when it comes to work exposure...its not about quantity, its about quality. I've worked for the Queen, five Prime Ministers, a few foreign heads of state, and many famous actors and musicians and have had my work translated into 10 different languages for the past 20 years...but if you want to compare Rolodexes or Linked In contacts, I think yours might come up a bit short.

Thundercakes wrote about fairness. Sorry Thundercakes, the issue is illegal signage. Its black and white. Billboards are legal, RWDSU's are illegal. ALL TAXPAYERS must obey the laws.

Euronymous must have been off the planet for a bit too long, as for the life of me I can't see how Regina sounds anything like Bicuspid.

Thank you one and all for coming by. Do pop in and see us again soon. The Welcome mat is officially out now.

Im at work so I have to be quick with this:

Modern day society has turned into one big advertisement,  Do you think because someone pays x amount of dollars to put whatever crap on a sign, I should have to look at it?  Because we're 'tax payers' we have to put up with this type of eye strain?

Go take down the sobeys signs or advert your eyes.   You are too used to having everything routine that you take any infringement of bylaw as a personal stab in the back.  Sort of like that "simple life" movie that was in black and white - it wasnt routine and they started freaking out.

This is like like arguing to a jahova witness about religion.

Good day,

Forever loving,,
Jay.

Horseshit Jay, the bylaw black and white issue.  Either you abide to it, or you violate it.

When a citizen erects a garage sale sign, it is removed and/or the citizen is fined. If a citizen continues to blatantly break the law, the heavy hand of the City of Regina Gestapo comes down and the City's expenses of bringing a citizen into compliance are added to the property owner's tax bill.

But when a Union violates the bylaw, the signs are picked up (occasionally).  The union continues to blatantly violate the bylaw, and nothing happens.

My question and point is: WHY? Why the duplicity? Why one rule a citizen, and one rule for another? ALL are supposed to be equal before the law. NOBODY is above the law.

It is a simple request: obey the law, and enforce the rules equally for all. Apparently it is a request that is beyond the bureaucrats ability whom our tax dollars pay, and it is beyond the abilities of the officials we elect.

Everyone has an opinion, NOBODY has an answer.

Looks like someone (you) put up a garage sale sign and got fined now you are fighting for the cause.
