| Photo Radar in Regina |

So Hizz Honor, the Mayor Pat Fiacco, and the Police would like to use photo radar to ensure safer streets and enforce speed limits? Once again, the fine people of Regina are assumed that they can't look after themselves and a 'higher power' must look out for us citizens.
I think if Pat wants photo radar to ensure safer streets and enforce speed limits, turn about is fair play. We should install Internet Web Cameras in EVERY office of EVERY City of Regina civil servant, including Mayor Fiacco's office. Yeah, that's right! We should be able to log into the City of Regina web site at anytime, and be able watch our civil servants at work, so we citizens can ensure value for our tax dollars and enforce our wishes that we receive VALUE for our tax dollar. Perhaps Mayor Fiacco wouldn't mind if we citizens installed a web camera just outside his residence, so we can watch the comings and goings on the public street by his house? I'm sure he wouldn't mind continuous surveillance because if he's doing nothing wrong, he shouldn't have anything to worry about. I don't understand why Mayor Pat would be lobbying for a change to the Provincial laws to allow Photo Radar cameras. Its not like he needs another law that his administration can't (or won't) enforce, he can't even enforce bylaw 9881 and keep Sobey Stoller picketers signs off public thorough fares. Really, if revenue is the issue, why doesn't Mayor Pat advise his administration to enforce the ample rules already on the books. 340 plus days of picketers violating bylaw 9881, times five to ten signs, times 50 bucks each.....heck, that's gotta come close to the same amount of revenue the City of Regina earns from it's excessive enforced parking meter Gestapo! Naw, quick and easy. Let's spend another $250,000 on 'infrastructure' and install photo radar cameras. Cops can't be bothered to come to my house to respond to a break and enter alarm (its a low priority for the City of Regina's finest), so let's take working the speed traps off their work list too. I'd sure hate to ask the Police to provide the services that we ARE PAYING FOR! Nope, lets take the quick and easy way out. Install the cameras and fine the registered owners of those speeding automobiles. Who cares if the the owner IS the one operating the vehicle or not. Justice really doesn't matter on this, just like it doesn't matter who is the victim of graffiti, but that's a whole other blog post. Defeat Photo Radar and Red Light Cameras
